Subscribe to our Melbourne Repair Cafe newsletter or become a Volunteer Fixer!

The Melbourne Repair Café (Inner West) is a community initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things out. Regular repair café events will be held at Rhubarb Wholefoods cafe in Seddon. Local residents can bring their broken items to fix them on the spot with the help of voluntary repairers. Melbourne Repair Café (Inner West) could use more handy volunteers in the area. Join us!

Melbourne Repair Café (Inner West) is looking for people with different skills who come along to repair café sessions as volunteer fixers and share their knowledge with community members. You might, for instance, like to fix bicycles or electrical appliances, furniture or wooden objects, toys or musical instruments; or you might be good at mending clothing or shoes.

In addition, we are also looking for people who wish to fulfil the role of host / hostess at the meetings. You provide coffee and tea, welcome visitors and serve as a contact point for both visitors and repairers in the repair café.

We could also really use people who are handy with computers and the Internet! You might want to help us with our website or Melbourne Repair Café more present on Facebook and Twitter.

Want to know more about the Repair Café? Join our Facebook group, check out the international website http://repaircafe.org/en and our website at http://melbournerepaircafe.org.

Want to sign up as a volunteer? Register via our Volunteer Hub (managed by Sharing Shed Melbourne - an emerging library of things for Melbourne's West). We recommend you visit one of our monthly sessions first, to get a sense of how they work. They generally run on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 10am to 1pm at the Yarraville Community Centre, 59 Francis Street, Yarraville.

We look forward to seeing you soon at a Repair Café session!
